Relisted for a couple of reasons. If you want to get into a Charger which is genuinely rare and you don't want to spend a lot of money and time then this is the car for you. Only 183 V8 4sp Chargers were ever built and this one is still in pretty good nick. I have owned her for 3 years and from time to time have used it as a daily driver. I have confidence in driving this car anywhere, she is a beautiful cruiser with a solid engine and transmission. She was originally sold by Shoalhaven Motors, Nowra NSW in 1977 and still has its original number plates. The original owner (I think) has sprayed fish oil or the like throughout the boot, doors and floors so rust is at a minimum. She is painted in Sundance Yellow - nothing says '70s like yellow with brown stripes!! 12 months ago i took her off the road for a partial resto with the intention of keeping her, but I need to focus on another project, so she needs a new home.
Good points: Genuine matching numbers 318 4 speed (D20) Body code CL5H29 Fully restored upholstery with original boca ratan fabric (see photos). Engine bay has been cleaned up from the grease ball I inherited. Carpet and roof lining are in excellent condition. Engine and gearbox have been removed, regasketted and repainted New front pads and rear linings, cylinders and drums. Near new tyres 9 Months rego NSW New ball joints top and bottom, professionally fitted. Virtually no body rust Major rust repair done on usual chassis rail area at steering box Body work is straight. No cracks or damage to crash pad or steering wheel. New dual 2" exhaust (just like I would have fitted in the 70s)
What the next owner might consider: Paintwork is really quite good but if you are serious she could do with a freshen up - previous owner has done a little patchwork. Boot lid has rust in bottom corners Engine has minor front seal leak (didn't bother blue slip rego inspector).
I have a rustless boot lid, all aircon components, PAS pump and box and NOS louver if purchaser is interested.
This car has 231000Km on the clock and I have every reason to think this is genuine. This is a genuine car so no tyre kickers please. If you want to discuss anything please give me a call after hours or email. Thanks MM
